The children’s ministry is divided into 2 groups, which meet on the 2nd and 3rd Sunday of each month.
‘Shining Pebbles’ is aimed at children aged 3 to 6 years (up to the end of primary school Year 2). Activities undertaken by the children include creative craft activities, songs, prayers and bible stories. Every session ends with refreshments.
‘Church Rocks!‘ is the group for children aged 7 years upwards (from Year 3 onwards). Secondary age children often go on to become Junior Leaders within the groups. Activities in each session include bible scripture via the use of multimedia, and discussions take place following this which often leads to enquiring questions from the children. In each session the children also play a game, learn a bible memory verse, undertake a craft activity, a song, and time is allocated for prayer and reflection. As with the younger group, every session ends with refreshments.
The children deliver an annual Christmas service and are regularly involved in church worship and prayers.
All adult leaders have up to date DBS checks.
The aim of St Bede’s Children’s Ministry is to provide an effective ministry to children in an environment which is safe and where they are encouraged to develop a relationship with Jesus and to receive him into their lives and accept him as saviour, in order that they continue this relationship into adulthood.
